Course content and objectives

The program conveys extensive practical and theoretical competences in the area of Human Resource Management. After successfully completing the program, graduates are able to apply scientific methods and knowledge as required in the profession and to solve problems in an interdisciplinary way. At Anhalt University, the focus is on business studies content. Based on a holistic understanding of science, students are to acquire ways of thinking and acting that are meant to deal with complexity and ensure an effective handling of complex tasks. Graduates use this knowledge to develop an ability to make decisions, as they recognize and evaluate alternative courses of action.

With these theoretical tools, successful graduates can fulfill their challenging professional tasks in an increasingly complex society. The competences taught aim at career entry in a middle management position and senior positions in the area of personnel management in companies of various industries or personnel consulting companies. It is also possible to continue with a doctorate. Students acquire well-founded knowledge in all personnel policy fields. In additional modules, overarching subject competences are taught (leadership, organizational development, strategic human resource management, compensation management). Additional potential career fields after graduation include HR management, HR development, HR controlling, and HR recruiting.
