VERY IMPORTANT:You have to search and apply for an accommodation as soon as possible. The housing situation is extremely difficult in Köthen. We cannot help you with this. Please apply for a room immediately. One option is student dormitories - check the Links section.

Students who enrolled for Winter term 2023 or later have to pay 1160,-€ semester fees and 322.80,-€ semester contribution

All semester contribution and/or semester fees have to be transferred in one amount to the following account.

If you enroll for the master program please follow the instructions at the "request for enrollment" document at the application portal.

If you want to re-register please follow the instructions at the HIS-QIS Examination Portal or SSC Student Portal

HINT: Banks usually charge for transfer of funds and often subtract those fees from the amount you are transferring. You need to make sure that your bank will transfer the whole amount of Euro to the university account. Only then you will be able to get registered.

Please take care, that we can not help you to come to Köthen.

Maybe you can come in contact with senior students of our program. They might be able to help you and give hints for your arrival. Sometimes they also pick up our new incomers at the train station in Köthen.

Besides the semester contribution, you will need about 992 euros to cover your monthly expenses.
Once in Köthen, you will have to apply for a student residence permit with the local Foreigners' Office (Ausländerbehörde).
It will be mandatory that you show proof of financial funds of 992 Euro per month for the whole duration of your visa (normally a year) of your stay with your application for a student residence permit.
For a one-year residence permit, this adds up to 11904 euros. You have to deposit this amount in a blocked account in your name at a German bank. You are only allowed to withdraw a maximum of 992 Euros per month from this account. The amount might change over time.
