Course content and objectives

The development of pharmaceuticals has seen an increase in complexity and diversity of methods in recent years. Cell therapeutics and mRNA vaccines are just two examples. Furthermore, also the formulations are constantly refined, also propelled by new agents. The Bachelors degree program in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (PCH) aims at imparting modern procedures in agent design and optimization, pharmacology as well as the synthesis of modern carrier molecules for personalized agents. Students learn methods of pharmaceutical analytics and quality assurance of pharmaceuticals, biotechnological synthesis methods, molecularbiological and genetic processes as well as pharmabiotechnology. The obtained knowledge enables students to synthezize drugs and drug-related agents both by chemical and biotechnological methods and to assess their quality.
