Welcome to the IWIT doctoral center
The Doctoral Center Engineering Sciences and Information Technologies at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences offers Early career researchers the opportunity to obtain their doctorate in the fields of engineering (Dr.-Ing.) or natural sciences (Dr. rer. nat.).
The center is characterized by interdisciplinary cooperation between the universities of Merseburg, Anhalt and Harz. Doctoral students at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences can choose between these research areas:
- Electrical Engineering
- Civil engineering and geodesy
- Mechanical Engineering and Materials Engineering
- Chemical and environmental engineering
- Applied Natural Sciences
- Applied Computer Science
- Information Processing and Communication Technologies

From the idea to the application for acceptance
- Do you have an idea for a doctoral project? Then find out about supervising professors in your research area further down on this page and request supervision.
- Once you have received a confirmation of supervision, please complete the necessary application documents and submit them digitally by email to Dr. Christiane Hedtmann(christiane.hedtmann@hs-anhalt.de). The documents must be submitted at least 4 weeks before the doctoral committee meeting.

Enrollment for doctorate
Once you have been accepted into the doctoral center, you must register by submitting an application to the Student Service Center.
You can also enrol. Enrolment is voluntary and is also done by submitting an application to the Student Service Center and presenting the acceptance letter from the doctoral center. At the Köthen (Departments 5, 6 and 7) and Dessau (Departments 3 and 4) campuses, enrolment includes the Germany semester ticket.
