Welcome to the SGW doctoral center
The Doctoral Center Social, Health and Economic Sciences at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences offers Early career researchers the opportunity to obtain their doctorate in the fields of Philosophy (Dr. Phil.) or Economics and Social Sciences (Dr. rer. pol.).
The center is characterized by interdisciplinary cooperation between the universities of Anhalt, Magdeburg-Stendal, Harz and Merseburg. Doctoral students at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences can choose between these research areas:
- General business administration, in particular marketing and corporate planning
- Business Administration, in particular Marketing and Communications
- Business Studies, in particular Supply Chain and Operations Management, Digitalization
- Entrepreneurship, strategic management

From the idea to the application for acceptance
- Do you have an idea for a doctoral project? Then find out about supervising professors in your research area further down on this page and request supervision.
- Once you have received a confirmation of supervision, please complete the necessary application documents and submit them digitally by email to Katja Czech(katja.czech@hs-anhalt.de). The documents must be submitted to Katja Czech at least 4 weeks before the doctoral committee meeting.

Enrollment for doctorate
Once you have been accepted into the doctoral center, you must register by submitting an application to the Student Service Center.
You can also enrol. Enrolment is voluntary and is also done by submitting an application to the Student Service Center and presenting the acceptance letter from the doctoral center. Enrolment includes the following at the Köthen (Departments 5, 6 and 7) and Dessau (Departments 3 and 4) campuses Germany semester ticket.
