Overview
The Chair of Engineering Informatics has existed at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences since February 2019.
Prof. Dr. Johannes Tümler researches and teaches in the field of applied engineering informatics, particularly in the area of augmented and virtual reality. He contributes his experience from over 20 years of work in industry (Volkswagen) and applied research (Fraunhofer).
Computer engineering is an interface between computer science and the engineering disciplines. At Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, it is part of Department 6 - Electrical, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
The focus is on theory and practice:
- Fundamentals of computer science for engineers
- Augmented reality, mixed reality and virtual reality in industrial applications
Ingeneral , engineering informatics concerns computer scientists who develop software and algorithms for engineers. On the other hand, it concerns engineers who have contact with computer science topics.
