Doctoral students at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences—like all faculty, staff, and students—are required to adhere to good scientific practice (GWP).
To this end, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences adopted in 2023 the “Statutes on the Principles for Ensuring Good Scientific Practice and on the Handling of Allegations of Scientific Misconduct at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences” in 2023. These statutes are based on the “Guidelines for Ensuring Good Scientific Practice” of the German Research Foundation (DFG).
According to the doctoral regulations of the doctoral centers for Architecture and Design Research, Life Sciences, and Engineering and Information Technologies (IWIT), doctoral students must complete at least one course on good scientific practice (GWP) during their doctoral studies or demonstrate at least 8 hours of participation in GWP courses, ideally during the first year of their doctoral program. They are free to choose where they take GWP courses. Find the format that is the best fit for you.

- Participation in a one-day in-person event (venue rotates among all universities of applied sciences in Saxony-Anhalt)
- Participation in online modules, where the mandatory basic module can be combined with at least two elective focus modules
