The term "scientific work" will accompany you at the latest during your studies. In order to prepare you as well as possible for the challenges of a later course of study, the preparation of an independent, thematically linked written term paper, the so-called specialist paper, has been part of the curriculum since 2014.

Special learning achievement
The special learning achievement is regulated in § 15 of the upper school regulations. This is a voluntary, independently performed achievement at Abitur level. The special learning achievement consists of a written, scientific paper and a colloquium, with which students can replace a single-weighted Abitur examination (third or fourth examination subject).
Please note that a special learning achievement must be applied for at your school and is approved by the school management.
