Wine Institute

In May 2008, the "Central German Institute for Wine Research" was founded at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. The scientific institute was established primarily to support the Saale-Unstrut and Elbe wine-growing regions, the northernmost quality wine-growing regions in Europe. Changing climatic conditions are making viticulture in Central Germany more difficult. New strategies must be developed to ensure the yield of the local quality wine-growing regions.
