Course content and objectives
The bachelor’s in Nutrition Therapy aims to further qualify primarily people from health professions and enable them to work in a nutrition-therapy capacity. To this end, the career-integrated program at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences conveys knowledge and skills for use in nutrition therapy depending on various illnesses and groups of people. Based on pathophysiological, nutritional scientific, and nutrition psychological knowledge, students are able to systematically identify malnutrition and poor diets and treat them competently. Ethical, social, economical, and health policy requirements are also covered. With this program, students specialize as interdisciplinary experts with many different professional fields in science or as practitioners. With a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Therapy, graduates can work in a variety of jobs with a focus on nutrition therapy, especially in hospitals and reconvalescence centers, in out-patient practices, in nursing homes, with out-patient care services, and in nutrition counseling.
Requirements
- Abitur, Fachhochschulreife or a qualification recognized as equivalent
- Professional qualifications that are recognized as university entrance qualifications
- Admission without Abitur possible according to § 27 Higher Education Act
- A letter of motivation must be attached to the application
Proof of completed health-related training and at least one year of qualified practical professional experience.
