Studienkolleg

FSP and DSH courses at the Studienkolleg

If you are from another country and want to study in Germany, you will need to show proof of German proficiency and knowledge in your subject area. Find out which exams you need to take and how you can apply to a Studienkolleg.

The Studienkolleg (preparatory program) assists international students who need to take

  • an assessment exam (Feststellungsprüfung, FSP) or
  • the German language exam for university entrance (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang, DSH)

in order to be able to study in Germany. In our FSP and DSH courses, we prepare students for these exams and proctor them. Because courses are held only in German, German language skills (TestDaF minimum level of B1 or comparable level) are required.

Those who successfully complete the exams can then study at any full university or university of applied sciences in Germany.

FSP Courses

Besides language and subject-area knowledge, students also learn about German culture. After successfully passing the examination at the end of the course, you can start your studies in Germany.

DSH Courses

DSH Courses are for applicants who are only missing proof of German language skills for admission to a German full university or university of applied sciences. Besides learning the German language, participants are comprehensively prepared for life in Germany.
