Acceptance exam
All students who have applied for a spot at the Studienkolleg must take an acceptance exam. The acceptance exam takes place in February and August around one week before lessons start in the Studienkolleg (see <link en international prep-program-for-studies preparatory-program-studienkolleg downloads.html internal link in current>semester schedule).
According to the statutes (fee regulations) of Saxony-Anhalt’s Preparatory School (Landesstudienkolleg), at least €30 must be charged for the acceptance exam. Please bring €30 in cash with you to the exam.
Aids (e.g. dictionaries, grammar books, formula collections, calculators, and other electronic devices) are not permitted for the tests. The students are accepted into the Preparatory School (Landesstudienkolleg) according to the number of points they achieved on the entrance exam and the number of available spots.
The content of the acceptance exam varies depending on the different courses:
What does the entrance test look like?
Applicants for the G-course and the DSH course must take a German test at the entrance exam. This consists of two parts:
- C-Test (30 min)
- A text production test (30 min)
Applicants for the G course also take an English entrance test (30 minutes).

Applicants for the DSH course can choose between an analog and a digital entrance test.

Applicants for the W, T and M courses must take a math test and a German test in the entrance exam. The entrance test consists of three parts:
- C-test in German (30 min)
- Specified text production (30 min)
- Mathematics (30 min)

How does the entrance test work?
The next entrance test will take place on 12.08.2025 at Lohmannstr. 23 in Köthen.
Registration: 8-9 a.m.
You must present your invitation from the Studienkolleg and your passport with a valid residence permit (Fiktionsbescheinigung).
Please also bring the amount of 30.00 euros in cash to the test. This is the amount due for taking the entrance test in accordance with the statutes of the Preparatory College (Landesstudienkolleg Sachsen-Anhalt) (fee schedule).
You are not allowed to use any permitted supplementary materials (dictionaries, calculators, smartphones) during the tests.
As soon as the correction is completed, you will find the results of the admission test on the website of the Studienkolleg.
If you have passed the entrance test, we welcome you to the Studienkolleg! Before your studies begin, you must enrol, i.e. register at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
We are sorry about that. You can retake the entrance test in the next semester.
Enrollment (registration)
As soon as you have passed the entrance test, we welcome you to the Studienkolleg of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences! On the day of enrolment (usually the Monday after the entrance test, see semester schedule)
- you will receive your timetable,
- you must enroll (matriculate),
- you can get a place in a hall of residence and
- receive information about health insurance.
Classes usually start 1 day after enrollment.

- You can register with the Immigration Office.
- You must also register with the Residents' Registration Office and set up a bank account
