Erasmus+ mobility for doctoral students
With the Erasmus+ project generation 2021-2027, doctoral students at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences have various opportunities to realize a mobility abroad. Erasmus+ can be used to fund stays abroad for the following purposes, among others
- Acquisition and further development of relevant (research) skills or the implementation of research work
- Participation in classes (access to Building 17 - Dessau) that are relevant to the preparation and implementation of a dissertation project
- Improvement of foreign language skills, digital and intercultural competence
- Improving cooperation between the partner institutions
- International networking activities
- Preparation for the academic job market in the European Higher Education Area (SMP)
Participation in conferences or language courses abroad isNOT eligible for funding for doctoral students.
Doctoral students accepted for doctorate at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences can take advantage of the following funding formats in the Erasmus+ program:
- Long-term mobility of 2-12 months (optional virtual phase)
- Short-term mobility of 5-30 days (optional virtual phase)
- Participation in a blended intensive program (with mandatory virtual phase)
Doctoral students who are employed at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences can be supported via the following Erasmus+ funding formats:
- Staff mobility (optional virtual phase)
- Participation in a Blended Intensive Program (STT with mandatory virtual phase)

Erasmus+ funding formats for doctoral students
Target region: Erasmus+ program countries and associated partner countries (individual non-associated partner countries within the framework of KA171)
Target group: Doctoral students
Duration of stay: 2-12 months
Funding: analogous to student funding in the first and second study cycle (see Erasmus+ mobility funding)
SMS/SMP: funding is possible for both traditional study visits (SMS) and internship mobility (SMP). Whether SMS or SMP mobility is more suitable should be examined on a case-by-case basis.
