You should examine whether it makes sense to open a bank account in Germany. If you are only in Germany for a short time, bring enough cash with you and/or have the opportunity to withdraw cash here free of charge, you can safely do without opening an account.
Please note: Many official offices in Germany only accept cash and not payment by credit card.
In Germany, it is compulsory to have health insurance.
In EU countries and some other European countries, people with health insurance have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which is also valid in Germany. Students who do not have an EHIC must take out health insurance or take out health insurance abroad in their home country. Information on German health insurance can be found here.
During online enrollment, a copy of the EHIC card or the membership certificate of a health insurance company must be uploaded.
If you come from an EU or EEA country, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Tunisia or the United Kingdom, you are already insured in your home country and cannot take out health insurance in Germany. In this case, you must contact a local health insurance fund in Germany, e.g. AOK, TK, DAK, BARMER, BKK, etc., and obtain confirmation that you are exempt from registering for German statutory health insurance.
Important note: If you take up employment or self-employment alongside your studies or come from another country, you must take out insurance in Germany.
Validity of the EHIC
However, the area covered by the EHIC only applies to direct medical treatment in emergencies. The coverage of other services, such as special medical monitoring for chronic illnesses, must be clarified in advance with the health insurance company. In such cases, it may be advisable to take out international health insurance.

From January 1, 2013, every household will have to pay contributions for broadcasting equipment. With the latest reform of the Interstate Broadcasting Treaty, a flat rate will then be payable per household for all devices, meaning that no citizen will be able to exempt themselves from this fee.
Each household will then pay 17.50 euros per month, which corresponds to the previous maximum rate. It does not matter which devices are available and used in the household. A further EUR 17.50 will be payable for each additional home, such as second, secondary or vacation homes. One contribution is payable per apartment.
From 2013, students who live in a shared flat will no longer have to pay individually for their radio sets, as was previously the case. In future, the following will apply: The broadcasting fee of €17.50 per month will only be payable once per apartment - regardless of the number of broadcasting devices and residents.

And here I am after the unforgettable experience of Anhalt university Erasmus Program, lucky to have been part of and inspired to continue my journey of architecture studies with many new points of view. As an Albanian student of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, UPT I am glad to have had the opportunity to continue a part of my studies in DIA (Dessau Institute of Architecture). From the interesting place of Bauhaus history to the great actual institution offering support in academic and organizational terms for the exchange students arrival and continuation, the knowledge shared, professionals, methods of learning and expressing the personal creativity, the surprising international atmosphere and approaches in education and everyday life, I would experience it all again if I could. Even though very strong pandemic restrictions were operating in Germany during my stay, this did not fully affect the campus life, present meetings time after time and the social life between students. So happily, in the words of a great architect: "The human seems to be a verb - an evolutionary process" in an endless urge to discover and create, I would suggest everyone receiving the announcement of application, to go for this experience!
