Food process engineering

Equipment of the research group

The research team's work area includes a food technology center with facilities for the production and processing of foodstuffs from small-scale to the processing and treatment of product samples on a technical scale. The application-specific laboratories are equipped with the latest analysis technology and are used to characterize everything from the raw material to the end product. Classical wet-chemical methods and physico-chemical methods as well as various chromatography methods are used for in-process analysis and product characterization and structure elucidation with a focus on protein analysis.

Food technology center

The technical center is equipped with the most important process units for the treatment and processing of raw materials and semi-finished products relevant to food technology as well as for the targeted extraction and isolation of target components.
