If your study program requires a mandatory internship, it will not count towards the 140-day rule. Your internship company is not obliged to pay you for the internship.
If your internship is voluntary, the company is required to pay you the statutory minimum wage. Additionally, a voluntary internship will count towards your working time under the 140-day rule.
