Sur­vey­ing and Geoin­form­at­ics (M.Eng.)

Department of Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation

The master's degree program in Surveying and Geoinformatics is offered consecutively.  It is intended for graduates with a bachelor's or "Diplom" degree. Admission is possible with degrees with a geodetic, geographic, geological, cartographic or computer science focus. This also relates to applied degree programs with GIS components in their curriculum, such as programs with land conservation, environmental, planning or forestry backgrounds.
The first two semesters consist of compulsory and elective modules that provide in-depth knowledge, skills and experience in specialized areas such as geospatial data collection and analysis, databases, planning, geographic information systems and scientific methodologies. In the third semester, you will write your master's thesis.

Master’s thesis

A master's dissertation or master's thesis is a scientific or artistic paper written to complete a master's degree program. The thesis demonstrates that the student can work independently on a problem within a given time frame and present their work in writing in a clear manner.
The student is then required to present the content in the master’s colloquium and to defend it in a scientific discussion.
